Woolworths Carols in the Domain to have no audience

Woolworths Carols in the Domain has for the first time since its launch announced there will be no audience.

The exciting family event which was due to be held at Sydney’s Domain at the Aware Super Theatre on December 18 and 19 will go ahead without an audience and instead broadcast on Channel 7.

The decision comes due to the cluster occurring in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

‘It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we have made the decision to close off access to the public for the performance of Woolworths Carols in the Domain,’ the organisation wrote on Facebook.

‘The show will go ahead and will be broadcast on Channel 7 and 7plus on Wednesday, 23 December from 7.30pm for everyone’s enjoyment.

‘While we understand this will be frustrating for many members of the public, we felt that this was the right decision to make in the interests of public health and safety.

‘All purchased tickets will receive a full refund.’

Larry Emdur and Kylie Giles will host the televised version of the Carols on December 23.

All residents in the Northern Beaches will be under mandatory restrictions from 5pm.
There will be only four reasons to leave the house which includes, exercise, medical attention, shopping for essential items and on compassionate grounds.
“We are hoping that will give us sufficient time to get on top of the virus so we can then ease up for Christmas and the New Year moving forward,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“For the rest of Sydney, can I please ask everybody to abandon nonessential activity until that time,” she said.
“We do not want the virus to spread outside of the Northern Beaches.
“We do not want perhaps, unidentified strands of the virus outside of Sydney, outside of the Northern Beaches, to start getting to an extent which concerns us.
“Please limit your activity. We are asking you to do this in good faith … If you are planning a night out tonight, we ask you to consider changing those plans on staying at home.
“We want people to stay at home tonight and the next few nights so that we can ensure the virus does not spread.”
