Utah Quickly Scores Touchdown On First Offensive Possession

The Utah Utes scored quickly on their first possession against Oregon State when quarterback Tyler Huntley found tight end Brant Kuithe for a 21-yard touchdown to give the Utes a 7-0 lead just five minutes into the game.

The game started with Utah’s defense forcing Oregon State to punt on a three-and-out.

When Utah had their turn on offense, they went to star running back Zack Moss picked up where he left off in his first game back from missing the second half against USC three weeks ago and the entire game against Washington State on September 28. The senior running back racked up 25 yards on just two carries.

Huntley has been on fire this season. He is among the top quarterbacks in the country in completion percentage and quarterback rating. On the first drive, Huntley connected on all three of his pass attempts for 50 yards and the touchdown to Kuithe.

The drive was six plays and Utah traveled 65 yards down the field in 3:07.

During the possession, Utah lost starting center Orlando Umana, who was ejected for targeting when he hit a pile of three Oregon State defenders when they brought down Moss and after the officials reviewed the play in the booth, they determined that Umana led with the crown of his helmet.
